Hales Home Care, one of the UK’s leading home care providers, is thrilled to announce that Wendy Hipkin, a care worker from their Swaffham branch, has been honoured with a plaque and certificate for achieving the remarkable title of “Top of the Global Leaderboard 2023 – Highest Referring Care Worker” by Care Friends – the Employee Referral App for Social Care.

Upon receiving the award, Wendy expressed her sincere gratitude and shared: The Care Friends App is really easy to use; you just click a button and share the link. The money you get is brilliant – It paid for my holiday and some special gifts at Christmas.”

Since the launch of Care Friends with Hales in July 2020, Wendy has referred 17 new hires to the business.

In the past three years, Care Friends has enabled Hales to recognise and reward workers through a points-based system.

Employees earn points for successfully referring candidates and for demonstrating exceptional dedication and performance beyond expectations.

These accumulated points can be redeemed for cash rewards, providing a tangible recognition for their valuable contributions.

Referrals are now the second highest source of new hires for the business. Notably, 80% of these referred candidates have successfully surpassed the 90-day retention period, surpassing the sector average by an impressive 30%.

Neil Eastwood, CEO and Founder of Care Friends and author of Saving Social Care, commented: “We are delighted to award Wendy the 2023 Care Friends Global Top Referrer spot from over 50,000 app users. By sourcing an amazing 17 new members of staff via Care Friends all by herself, Wendy has set the standard everyone will be trying to beat! Congratulations Wendy!”

Nicola Mewse, Hales Group Managing Director, expressed her delight at Wendy’s achievement, stating, “We are incredibly pleased that Wendy feels so proud to work for Hales that she wants to share all that is great about the company with her friends and contacts. The referral App allows us to reward colleagues like Wendy for introducing like-minded people to this important caring profession.”
