Hales Group is thrilled to announce the finalists for the 2024 Hales Care Awards, recognising the dedication, compassion, and outstanding achievements of care professionals across the organisation.

The annual awards celebrate those who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care, making a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

After a rigorous shortlisting process, finalists have been selected across 8 categories: Deliver a Personal Approach, Maintain Professional Excellence, Empower Trust, Champion Change, Exceptional Performance, Best Support Act, Top Team, and Rising Star.

From frontline carers to the operations and support staff, the awards highlight the invaluable contribution of those who work tirelessly to provide high-quality care.

Recognising excellence in care

Each finalist has demonstrated exceptional commitment to upholding Hales Group’s vision and values, providing technology-enabled care that improves the lives of vulnerable people in the community.

Their hard work and kindness make a positive difference every day, and these awards are a testament to their invaluable contribution to the sector.

Care Assistant Adele Wilkinson, Deliver a Personal Approach Finalist, shared their reaction to being shortlisted: “I am in shock but very pleased that I have been recognised for the work I do. It means a lot to me. I feel appreciated and over the moon. My service users are like my family, and I treat them the same way I would a family member.”

Care Coordinator Pedro Ribeiro, Best Support Act Finalist, commented: “I feel happy and proud. After 3 years of hard work, it’s nice to be recognised. It means a lot to me that my work is appreciated, and I have the support of my team.”

Care Assistant Penny Wales, Empower Trust Finalist, said: “I feel very proud of being recognised and this has made me wish to carry on delivering an excellent service.”

Care Assistant and Rising Star Finalist, Harry Newton, shared: “This recognition gives me confidence in my ability as a care worker and makes me excited for my future in the care sector. I feel that I have finally found the career for me that is incredibly rewarding and something I love.”

Maintain Professional Excellence Finalist, Care Assistant Jacqueline Bedford, said: “It’s nice to have the outside confirmation that your work is recognised to the extent that someone has gone to the trouble of making a nomination. Personally, I’m pleased that my work with the service users has been appreciated.”

Members of the Leeds Branch, Top Team Finalist, shared their excitement for being shortlisted:

“I feel great and excited that we have been nominated. It feels good to be recognised as a team because being part of a team is everything – it makes your days great.”

“It feels good to be recognised as a good team.”

“As a new member of the team, it is nice to be recognised, and I am happy that I am part of this great team.”

Finally, Mason Barendrecht, Director of Technology, AI and Systems, Champion Change Finalist, said: “As someone who is passionate about using technology to solve problems, I am often faced with the hurdles that can come with change, so I am proud to be a finalist for the “Champion Change” award. It is a testament to Hales Group and my unwavering commitment to innovation and adaptability, driving positive transformation within our organisation and beyond.”
