Hales Group is committed to creating a workplace where staff feel supported and encouraged to speak up about their mental or physical health.
As part of its commitment to employee wellbeing, Hales has implemented a range of initiatives to ensure that every staff member has access to support and resources.
Tayla Clarke, HR Specialist (Health, Safety & Wellbeing), has recently been appointed to support and provide staff with the guidance, resources, and assistance needed to enhance wellbeing.
“We continue to actively communicate a wide range of supportive culture that values mental, emotional, and physical health. We not only enhance the quality of life for our team members but also boost productivity and morale,” Tayla commented.
“Investing in wellbeing initiatives, such as wellness programs and mental health resources, demonstrates our commitment to our employees as individuals, which ultimately reflects in the overall success of our organisation,” she adds.
Wellbeing Wednesday is an opportunity for staff members to check in, seek support, or to simply have a chat.
On Wellbeing Wednesdays, managers operate an open-door policy, ensuring that anyone who needs to talk, about work or personal matters, can do so in a safe and supportive environment.
“Wellbeing Wednesday is a straightforward but effective way to remind employees of simple strategies to put balance in their work and home life, like taking a digital detox, even for a brief time each day, or getting some fresh air by combining a walk with collecting a lunchtime sandwich or walking the dog, and that at times when they may feel overwhelmed or isolated, that they are not alone,” says Nicola Mewse, Group Managing Director.
As part of its ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, Hales Group supports Time to Talk Day on Thursday, 6 February.
Time to Talk Day is an annual event that encourages people to talk openly about mental health. This year’s theme is “Get comfortable and start talking about mental health.”

“We want employees to feel comfortable reaching out in whatever way suits them best,” says Nicola. “Whether through Wellbeing Wednesdays, Time to Talk Day, or our external Wellbeing Programme, there is always someone available to listen.”
