Hales Group has welcomed the first group of international recruits to strengthen its workforce.

Five senior carers from Sri Lanka arrived in the UK this week to join the team in Ipswich.

Before starting their jobs, the senior carers will receive assistance from a dedicated support team, who are helping them adjust into working and living in the UK.

The new recruits will be starting their training induction on their first week which will continue into the following weeks with e-learning courses, and then shadowing existing care workers.

Talking about their first day in their new roles and meeting the team in Ipswich;

“It was a memorable day for me.”

“They welcomed us very warmly.

“I can proudly say that joining Hales is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.”

“Everyone was lovely and friendly.”

“They treated us very nicely and provided us with an amazing accommodation.”

Hales aims to meet the increasing demand for social care services and help ease pressures on local authorities and hospitals.

Estimates predict at least 1.7 million more adults will require social care over the next 15 years, which could require an increase in the social care workforce to between 2.1 million and 3.1 million by 2025.

Jeffrey Fowler, Chairman of Hales Group, commented: “We are thrilled and proud to welcome our first cohort of international care professionals to our team in Ipswich.”

“We know our new Hales Heroes will make an enormous difference with their experience and great expertise in delivering essential care to vulnerable people in the community.”
