Hales Carer Recognised for Exceptional Care and Compassion

16 January | By

Hales is proud to announce that Lacey Lazell, carer in Wickford, has been recognised for her exceptional work and compassion.

According to the family of a service user, Lacey’s patience, skill, and professionalism have shone through since the beginning of her care for their loved one, who has severe dementia.

In a recent visit to the Naval and Military club, the service user was able to remember Lacey’s name and speak positively about her care, even though she struggles to remember the names of her own family members.

“Lacey has a gift for this type of work and we are so pleased she is part of the team looking after our mum,” said the family in a statement.

“The care and compassion that Lacey has shown is remarkable, and we are truly grateful.”

Dementia is a syndrome in which brain functions deteriorate beyond what is expected from the usual effects of ageing, i.e. the ability to gather and process thoughts, make decisions, solve problems and communicate.

According to the NHS, 1 in 6 adults over 80 live with a form of dementia.

While there is currently no cure for dementia, the right care and support can help maintain a high quality of life even in the face of memory loss.

“We are thrilled to see Lacey receiving this well-deserved recognition,” said Debbie Dennis, Head of Care at Hales Group.

“She is a shining example of the high-quality care and dedication that our care workers provide on a daily basis. We are proud to have her as a member of our team.”

Hales is committed to providing exceptional care to all its service users, including people living with dementia, and is proud to have care workers like Lacey who embody this mission.

Lacey has been recognised for her achievements with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a reward bonus*
