Sheffield Homecare team takes on Peak District Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s Society

On 22 August 2026, colleagues from our Sheffield care team are taking on a 5.5-mile walk around Bamford Edge and Stanage Edge circular in the Peak District to raise awareness of dementia and vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society.

Dementia is a cause that is particularly meaningful to the team, who have witnessed its impact both through their work in care and within their personal lives. Through this challenge, they hope to raise awareness and support the charity’s vital work for people affected by dementia.

About Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity, providing support, advice and practical services for people living with dementia and their families. The organisation funds vital research, campaigns for better care and works to raise awareness of a condition that affects nearly 1 million people across the UK. With someone developing dementia every three minutes, Alzheimer’s Society is committed to providing help and hope to everyone affected.

Why They Are Taking Part

The team shared why supporting Alzheimer’s Society and taking on this fundraising challenge is so important to them:

“Through both our personal lives and our work in care, we’ve seen the impact dementia can have on individuals and their families.”

“By fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society, we hope to help provide life-changing support services, fund groundbreaking research, and raise awareness so that nobody has to face dementia alone.”

We wish the team all the best as they take on their challenge and raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Society. You can find out more about the team’s fundraising efforts by visiting their fundraising page.
