FAQs

As a Care Assistant, you’ll support individuals with daily tasks to help them live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. Your responsibilities may include providing personal care (such as washing, dressing, and toileting), assisting with medication, preparing warm and nutritious meals, supporting with light household duties, and ensuring they have essential groceries. Just as importantly, you’ll offer companionship and emotional support – building trusting relationships that make a real difference every day.

Previous experience in care is a bonus, but it’s not essential. What we value most is your attitude and personal qualities. If you’re compassionate, respectful, reliable and genuinely want to make a positive difference, you already align with our core values. We provide full training and ongoing support, so you’ll be fully equipped to grow into the role.

A driving licence is not essential, but it is ideal, as you will be required to travel between clients’ homes or locations. In some areas, we offer walking rounds or accommodate cyclists, making our care roles accessible to both drivers and non-drivers. If you have access to a car or bike, this can help widen your options and flexibility.

Qualifications can be obtained whilst working and earning, however a good standard of numeracy and literacy is needed to maintain accurate records and deliver medication safely.

To be successful as a Care Worker, you need to demonstrate compassion, reliability, respect, and a genuine desire to help others. Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy are essential when supporting people with their individual needs. You’ll also need to be trustworthy, work well as part of a team, and maintain the dignity and independence of those you care for. A positive attitude and a commitment to making a difference can go a long way in this rewarding role.

Absolutely. A career in care offers real opportunities to grow and develop. Many of our team members start as Care Assistants and go on to become Senior Carers, Care Coordinators, or move into supervisory and management roles. We provide ongoing training, recognised qualifications, and support for professional development at every stage. Whether you want to take on leadership responsibilities or explore roles in training, recruitment or compliance, we’ll help you build a fulfilling long-term career in care.

We offer a wide range of full‑time and part‑time hours to suit different lifestyles and personal commitments. Depending on the service needs, shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends.
