About me

Before Covid, I was working as a Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) coach, but like many, I lost my job during the pandemic. I came across an advert for a Care Assistant role on Indeed and felt drawn to it. I wanted to do something meaningful and help people during such a difficult time.

I started with Hales in Wickford in March 2020 and have been working in care for five years now. When I first called about the job, the staff were very friendly. I knew I wanted to work somewhere that would support me and that’s exactly what I found.

What keeps me motivated is seeing the people we support happy and comfortable in their own homes and knowing that our care is helping them live well.

Career pathway

This was my first job in care, and I’ve not looked back since. I started at Hales as a Care Assistant and, over the years, I’ve been supported to develop into this management role.
