Kelly Mildren

I’ve always known I wanted to work in care. From a young age, I’ve always looked after my Nan, and that experience made me want to help more elderly and vulnerable people.  

I’ve been working in the care sector for around 15-20 years. I joined Hales in 2022 because I liked that it’s a company with great values that resonate with me. 

What keeps me motivated in my role is knowing that we’re making a difference in many people’s lives. 

Career pathway 

I first got into care through looking after my Nan, who lived in sheltered accommodation. Over the years, I’ve worked my way through a variety of roles such as: Carer, Senior Carer, Recruiter, Care Coordinator and On-Call Assistant. 

I became a Registered Manager when a vacancy gave me the opportunity to step up. I’d already shown I had the right mindset and skill set for the role, and I was ready for this next challenge.
